The Ronnies is a campaign made for a rollerskating event. Together with Jurriaan Gossink, we worked on this project. It had to be a very impulsive event. Jurriaan and I decided that in order to promote a rollerskating event, we first had to make rollerskating populair again.
We created a performance where hundreds of “Ronnies” as pictured above, would skate through the city with a boombox on their shoulders. The Ronnies are all dressed to look the same. They try to get in touch with the locals and redirect them to their Facebook page. But when you’ve got hundreds of Ronnies from Rotterdam, you will find hundreds of facebook profiles of Ronnies from Rotterdam. Everything, the businesscards, website, Ronnies and facebook pages will lead to the facebook event.
